Developing a Local Parenting Forum
Written by Peter Jones for Multi-Agency Working Group (16 pages A4). June 2000
These guidelines are aimed at local policy makers and practitioners in statutory and voluntary agencies, who are working to establish an appropriate forum. The purpose is to assist in the development of coherent multi-agency services for parenting education and support. The findings are the results of a seminar held by the Parenting Education & Support Forum (now Parenting UK) for around two dozen established local forums from around the UK. While there are no prescriptive routes or structures, there are strategies that others have found helpful and it is now possible to identify some of the practice issues to be addresses.

Multi-Agency Guidelines: Working Together at a Local Level
Written by Peter Jones and Peter Newell on behalf of the Multi-Agency Working Group (8 pages A4). Revised edition February 2000
These guidelines aim to encourage collaborative working at a local level to expand appropriate parenting education and support. The purpose is not to provide rigid prescriptions for how local services should be planned and delivered. Instead it is intended to supply possible frameworks and checklists which can be used as the basis for discussion and planning at a local level.
