Working with Men aims to support the development of boys, young men, adult men and fathers. It offers training and consultancy services, as well as resources, to aid practitioners and agencies who work with boys and/or men. Key areas of work include parenting and teenage fathers, sexual health and mental well-being, and relationships. Recent training includes targeting and engaging boys and young men, developing a sexual health strategy targeting young men, self esteem, and meeting the educational needs of African Caribbean boys. fpa offers a training service to all those working on sexual health, sex and relationships education (SRE), and sexuality. Courses include: Delivering SRE with Confidence (University accredited, 30 credits at level 2/3); Practical Skills in SRE; Let's Make it Happen: Training the Trainers, a course on sex, relationships, pregnancy and parenthood for those working with looked after children; What Can I Say? Supporting Fostered Children and Young People around Sex and Relationships and Sexual Health; Schools and SRE; Delivering SRE in the Classroom (University accredited, 30 credits at level 3). They also offer a range of courses on delivering SRE to young people with special needs. Training is delivered on pre-set dates at various locations around the country or can be requested for a specific group or organisation. Tailor made training is available. The Sheffield Centre for HIV and Sexual Health works towards sexual health for all, their specific objectives include reducing unintended teenage pregnancies, prevention of HIV and other Sexually Transmitted Infections, the promotion of positive and mutually satisfying relationships and the provision of excellent Sex and Relationships Education. They offer a series of ongoing training courses including Primary Schools and SRE and Secondary Schools and SRE. A Train The Trainer Financial Capability Course for anyone working with young people and needing to raise young people’s financial awareness. Financial Awareness for Young People is now a compulsory subject for PSHE in schools.
