The role of the Early Intervention Family Support Worker is to support parents of children aged 5-13 living within a catchment area with a range of behavioural and developmental issues that affect them. You will work directly with parents and children in a non-judgemental way, empowering families to overcome barriers and get the most out of the educational opportunities available. The post holder will develop collaborate links with parents, professionals and colleagues in other agencies to promote and deliver a range of flexible services and activities, both within schools and in an outreach capacity in the family home. This will include individual work with parents / carers and group work sessions such as parenting programmes. The successful candidate should have considerable experience of direct work with children/young people and their families.

The post holder is expected to be educated to NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or an appropriate field, Social Work, Youth and Community Work or other relevant qualification or equivalent in appropriate area.
