The Child Sexual Exploitation Conference 2017 will provide attendees with a timely opportunity to discuss the implications of government policy going forward, including the impact of recent reforms and initiatives on national efforts to prevent and tackle child sexual exploitation (CSE).

  • Explore how to effectively tackle CSE, against the backdrop of NSPCC estimates that 1 in 20 children in the UK are sexually abused, and 1 in 3 who are abused by adults do not tell anyone
  • Evaluate the success of the government’s renewed approach to combatting CSE, as well as a specific focus on the Child Sexual Exploitation Response Unit
  • Explore innovative and effective multi-agency initiatives that have proven successful at tackling CSE
  • Examine the role of Local Safeguarding Children’s Boards in providing strong local leadership to combat CSE
  • Understand how to identify and provide extensive support to young people at a significant risk of CSE and/or grooming online
  • Analyse how to ensure that children and young people are better equipped to recognise if they are being subjected to sexual exploitation and encourage CSE victims to speak up
  • Examine the benefits of delivering a multi-agency, strategic and operational response to CSE, including how local stakeholders can collaborate better on prevention efforts is an online service designed to support and encourage parents and carers of children aged 5-19, with a collection of videos addressing day-to-day questions and concerns spanning wellbeing, behaviour and learning.
