Look who's talking: Improving communication skills to support and engage children and families

This conference will help you explore your personal and professional communication style(s) and will focus on how to communicate and respond effectively and appropriately with children, young people and their families. 

The conference will feature speakers including:

Bill Hewlett – Child Inclusive Practice Bill has worked for 17 years as a child consultant and mediator and managed and supervised the clinical practice of mediators across six Family Relationship Centres in Australia. He has published several articles on family dispute resolution and is frequently invited to present at conferences and events all over the world.

Duncan Gordon – Relationship Conflict Duncan has worked in a variety of roles within the third sector for many years, managing projects related to the employability of ex-offenders and young people at risk of offending. Duncan delivers core sessions related to conflict prevention and resolution to those who work with young people and families, parents and young people and families across Scotland.

Shirley Murchison – My body is my language With a background in Psychology and previously working in the Health and Social Work sector, Shirley now works as a Body Language Training Consultant. She is committed to helping individuals and organisations communicate more effectively and positively by understanding and putting into practice the basics of non-verbal communication.
